Test Driven Development - Mark Gilbert
TDD gets its name from the thought process that a developer uses when they write code. First you write a test, and then you write just enough code to pass that test. Writing the test first, before you write code, means that you have an end point in mind. You know what the program should be doing, and you encapsulate that knowledge in a tangible entity, namely the test. This presentation will run through the process using an application written in VB.NET that implements a form of solitaire.
COM Interop Using DotNet Web Services - Kevin Jackson
By exposing methods through web services and using the MS SOAP toolkit, you can integrate your existing COM-based applications with new applications and functions developed using Visual Studio.NET. This presentation will show server-side and client-side code samples to pass information between DotNet web services and COM applications. This presentation will also discuss different methods to pass simple and complex types as well as collections of objects.
