Object/Relational Mappers - Jeff Martignon
Object/Relational Mappers provide a framework for automatically mapping business objects into database tables. Reading and writing the data contained in these objects is done automatically. O/R Mappers provide a transparent persistence layer that not only handles simple object persistence but also "many to one", "one to many" and "many to many" relationships. Caching, Data binding, complex queries and even database independence are among the other benefits that O/R Mappers provide. In this session, we will look at specific examples using the Northwind database and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of object relational mapping.
