Joel Triemstra presented an "educational" session on the login controls in ASP.NET 2.0. Sample code is included below.
Mark Gilbert presented an "exposure" session to .NET 3.0. Most of the content for this came from http://www.netfx3.com and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.NET_Framework_3.0.
Mark then lead a discussion on some various logistical issues with the group. Here are the highlights:
1) Meeting times: We will move the regular meetings to the fourth Thursdays of the month, in an attempt to find a night that fit with more people's schedules. Our next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, September 28, 5:30pm.
2) New meeting format: We will now generally have an "exposure" presentation which is meant to provide an overview to a topic or a heads-up to what's coming down the road, as well as an "education" presentation which will be more along the lines of our past presentations.
3) Call for volunteers: We need your help in recruiting new attendees, with finding topics of interest to present on, and presenters who have something to share. All ideas and suggestions are welcome.
If you're interested in attending, please RSVP at
